Hello!
How are you? I really haven’t been very active on Instagram or here on the blog because I don’t really know what to say… it’s such a strange time for everyone. But the other day I shared the new Dyson flat iron on my Instagram stories and had several of you reach out wanting a full review/my opinion on it, so I thought it might be a welcome distraction for those working from home (like me!), homeschooling kids, or binge watching Netflix.

Leave it to Dyson to blow my mind again (pun intended). First with their Supersonic blow dryer, and then the curling and smoothing AirWrap that uses only AIR to contort your hair. See my full blog post on both- here.
AND now Dyson just launched a new flat iron called the Corrale Straightener.

Essentially Dyson claims it is a straightener with flexible plates meant to shape around your hair in ONE pass. You read that right, one pass- if you are an avid straightener, you know. It prevents you from having to run the flat iron over a section over and over again saving your hair from unnecessary heat damage and friction.
I’ve been flat ironing my hair since 2006. So I knew I needed this- ‘need’ is a loose term, but I knew it could be a game changer for me. Dyson has amazing customer service and return policy so I knew if it was a flop or didn’t do what I needed it to do for the price (we will get to that later) then I’d be able to get a full refund with no questions.
My Review:
Effectiveness
I am just going to come out and say it. It’s amazing.
It truly is a ‘single-pass’ flat iron.
The iron offers three heat settings- 320, 365, and 410, and it’s nice to know that the iron regulates the temperature 100 times a minute to insure you have even heat. I have thick, curly, and course hair and was able to style my hair in 10 minutes, at the 365 heat setting.
Before the Dyson I swore by the CHI straightener, it worked! But my hair was dry and damaged due to the high heat. With the Dyson I was able to get SMOOTHER hair, FASTER, and to top it off at 100 degrees LESS!

Look & Feel
Beyond the effectiveness of the iron, one of the other amazing features is that it can be used cordlessly! It comes with a really nice charging dock where you can fully charge the iron in an hour. From there, you have 30 minutes of cord-free time. If you forget or don’t have time to charge it simply attach the magnetic cord onto the base of the iron and use it like a traditional flat iron.
The straightener itself is big, and you can tell when using it that it’s a solid tool. The plates exterior are grooved to help guide the hair smoothly into the iron
Price
In true Dyson fashion this flat iron costs a premium- $499.
The Extras
If you’d like to take the Dyson Corrale on a plane, the styler has been certified as okay to fly in your carry-on luggage in its own flight safe mode – whereby you can disconnect the battery from the tool. A little pink button on the Corrale, displaying an airplane symbol, just needs to be pulled out for the battery to be disconnected and the tool is then safe to fly. So, so clever!
The Corrale also comes boxed with the charging dock as I previously mentioned, as well as a velvet pouch to carry it around in, all snug as a bug in your bag. Dreamy!
The iron heats up in about 15 seconds and also has an auto shut off feature if you’re worried you left it on when you left the house (don’t we all?!) and an LED screen to display battery power and heat setting.

So, is it worth it?
After trying this, I’m happy to know I don’t have to sacrifice my hairs health for #striaghthairgoals. Don’t let the steep price tag scare you—it’s worth it if you can swing it. I was able to straighten my hair in its natural state after just one (!!!) pass, for me. That’s bananas. I’m used to doing two or three passes over the same piece of hair, but there was minimal steam and no fried-hair smell when I tried this baby out.
If you are interested you can shop the flat iron here, here, and here.
It is an investment, so if you have questions, please feel free to email or message me directly on IG 🙂
Xo,
