Earlier this week I put a poll on my Instagram to see how many of you were interested in seeing content surrounding the anniversary sale- and the overwhelming majority voted ‘yes’, so today’s post is all things #NSALE!
First thing, housekeeping items, who can shop and when:
Early access starts August 13th, and then the sale opens up to everyone from August 19th through the 30th. The best part is, if you can’t make it to the store you can shop online.
How I shop the sale:
There are THOUSANDS of items included in the sale, everything from fall clothing to home decor, so its important to focus on the items you need for the upcoming fall season, every year items sell out fast. You can preview the items in sale NOW, so my advice would be to start browsing and adding items to your wishlist. I have access on August 10th, and will be doing all my shopping online because we don’t have a Nordstrom in Madison 😦
I use this sale as a chance to stock up on items that rarely go on sale, like designer items, cashmere, and denim. It’s easy to get caught up in cheap cute sweaters, but those will go on sale later, and sometimes at an even bigger discount than the anniversary sale.
My Picks:
I have rounded up my picks from several categories: clothes, activewear, shoes, accessories, loungewear, and beauty. I will provide a review and sizing references for each item I already own, i’ve also included items on my wishlist!
Like I mentioned earlier for clothing, I really try to focus on staple items that rarely go on sale.
One. AMT Leopard Tee: WISHLIST item! I have this tee in two solid colors- white and olive. It’s been a staple in my closet for the last year, the fit and quality are incredible. I get my true size.
Two. Cashmere Hoodie: WISHLIST item! I’ve had a cashmere hoodie on my radar for a while, and I love the fit and color of this one. You can dress this up or dress it down with leather leggings and some sneakers.
Three. Long Line Cardigan: I buy these during the sale every year! They are so soft and the price point is AMAZING for the quality. Runs true to size, if you are on the short side (like me), I will order the petite version if its available.
Four. Mother Looker Crop: Already have these in my closet… and I paid full price! This was my first pair of Mother denim- and they sold me! They are a mid-rise and are the softest denim I own. Run true to size.
Five. Rag & Bone Nina Skinny: Another pair of denim I own… and that I yet again paid full price for! These are the perfect high waisted jeans and work so well with sneakers and booties, If you only need ‘one’ pair of jeans in your closet- get these. Run true to size.
Six. Cashmere Crewneck Sweater: WISHLIST item! So perfect for work or layering in the fall and comes in so many pretty fall colors. Under $60!
Seven. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: If you don’t already own these, add them to your wishlist! They are a staple for me me during the fall and winter because they can spice up a simple outfit. I size up one in these.
One. Spanx Biker Shorts: I’ve heard amazing things about these shorts! However, I would wear them more for casual than actually working out in. If you are looking to try out the biker short trend (which I love), these are a great option!
Two. 3-Pack of Socks: WISHLIST item! I’ve been in need of some new workout socks and i’ve heard really good things about this brand.
Three. On-The-Go Backpack: How cute is this? The backpack style would be so convent for going to and from the gym.
Four: Workout Tank: Alo is known for great quality workout gear! Loving the color and the criss cross detail on the back.
Five: Long Sports Bra: How flipping cute is the back of this sports bra? The best part is its a long-line style so it can be worn on its own with high wasted leggings and shorts.
Six. Fleece Jacket: Love this jacket for going to and from the gym as well as with leggings and a crop top for a cute casual look. North Face never goes on sale!
Sadly the shoe selection this year was very underwhelming but there were a few really good gems!
One. Nike Sneaker: A white sneaker is a year-round staple for me. The pink and orange accents on these are adorable and would pair really nicely with most fall colors.
Two. Suede Bootie: A fall CLASSIC! Come’s in several colors and are so versatile – you can pair them with skinny for an easy casual outfit, or with a skirt and dress for a more dressed up look.
Three: Studded Chelsea Boot: WISHLIST item! I DIE for these, like how cute!
The accessories this year were ah-maze-ing!
One & Two. Wool Fedora: I included a steal and a splurge option, both are amazing brands. I personally own a Rag & Bone hat from last year’s sale and its amazing! I love pairing these hats with jeans, booties, and a cozy sweater. They are also super cute with dresses!
Three. Brixton Hat: I own this style hat in two colors and it is my go-to beach hat! The price on this is a steal! This will sell out fast!
Four. Crossbody Bag: A fun twist on the classic leopard bag. I love the pop of color the strap adds!
Five. Ray Ban Sunglasses: I already own these and they are my go-tos! If you look at any of my resent Instagram photos, i’ve got these on! Also, Ray Ban under $100… RUN!
Six & Seven. Jewelry: I love these bracelets, I pair them with my Apple watch for a little extra something. I’ve also been on the hunt for a small hoop hug earring and these are perfect!
The Barefoot Dreams and PJ selection this year is awesome!
One. Barefoot Dreams Throw: I bought this in two colors last year and I sleep with them both every night. The fabric is so soft and has stayed that way after many many washes. These would make perfect gifts for HS grads.
Two. Fuzzy Socks: I buy a set of these every year. They are just the best!
Three. Dog Sweater: WISHLIST item! Do not shame me haha. My dog, Paisley, is obsessed with my Barefoot Dreams blankets, so I am praying this stays in stock!
Four. Cozy Cardi: Cannot recommend these enough. Super cozy, comes in beautiful colors and are buttery soft! Runs true to size.
Five. PJ Set: WISHLIST item! These get amazing reviews and I am in need of a new set!
I’ll be honest, the beauty selection this year was disappointing. They really didn’t have much and a lot of what they did have were not great deals.
One. Charlotte Tilbury Eye Set: I cannot speak for the mascara but the eyeshadow creams are ammmmmazzzzing. What I love about them is how easy they are to apply and blend. They are perfect for wanting something subtile on your eyelid.
Two. T3 Curling Iron: Everyone is obsessed with this curling iron. I don’t really ever curl my hair, but my Mom has the t3, and of the few times I’ve used it, it’s very easy to use and the curls last all day long!
