Winter Coat Round Up

Baby its cold outside… or at least here it is! It seems as though Wisconsin canceled Fall this year and went straight from Summer to Winter. Our first snow fall came on Halloween this year… poor trick or treaters, so I feel a little behind the eight ball on this post but with a lot of great sales going on right now I wanted to round up the coats I’ve been loving this year from various categories.

The Plaid Coat

I am such a sucker for plaid… I always have been! I love the preppy vibe it adds to a look and that it really can be mixed and matched with other patterns. I snagged this plaid coat from Tradition Women’s Market here in Middleton WI a few weeks back (pictured below) and I have been wearing it on repeat. I love the earth tones and subtitle plaid print and with it being wool, its super warm! I got my true size (xs / 34) and it still has plenty of room for sweaters. You can call the store or order from the Part Two (brand of jacket) website here.

The Classic Wool Coat

For work or nicer occasions, I 100% think the wool coat is a must- it’s such a classic style and easy to blend in with your Winter wardrobe. This particular version comes in SO many colors, which is great because you could go with a basic tan or black option or jazz up your Winter style with a pink or teal. The best news? Its currently 40% off with code whywait or sign in/up and use code shopfirst for 50% off!

The Designer Splurge

I did a full review of this coat last year, but I wanted to include it in this round up because it’s something I find myself grabbing all the time. The solid quilted fabric and the Burberry plaid lining is such a classic in my opinion. It’s not a very thick coat, so a lot of the times I’ll wear it as a part of my outfit, like an inside jacket. I personally own the black, but the champagne and olive colors are drool worthy. I have mine in a medium (solely for layering) but I could have also done the size small. Yes, its pricey, but you will have it for YEARS, and it is well worth the $$$. It’s almost $180 off right now, so if you’ve had your eyes on this, snag it!

The Athletic-Chic Options(s)

I couldn’t limit this to just two!

Option One:
This black and stone quilted jacket is all the heart eyes- the quilted pattern with the black piping make it so sharp! What I love about this jacket is you can go with more of an athletic look with joggers and sneakers or dress it up with jeans a bootie. I just love the silver hardware and the side zip details- It’s so good that me and my Mom both got this! We purchased it from Tradition Women’s Market in a size extra small. You can call the store or order from the Sosken (brand of jacket) website here.

Option Two:
This jacket it perfect for all my fitness lovers out there! It is perfect for a day out running errands or to and from the gym/office. I love the clean lines and it fits like a glove. Get your true size for a more fitted option or size up one for a looser fit. I love all three colors it comes in!

The Under $100 Option(s)

Coats are expensive man, but they don’t have to be, so that’s why I included two ‘budget friendly’ options.

Option One:
I found this long puffer jacket for under $80!!! The gold hardware and bow detail make it look like a $200+ jacket. The reviews are great and say it runs TTS.

Option Two:
This one might not be under a $100 now, but once we get closer to Black Friday I anticipate this retailer doing a 50% off sale. This style is perfect for work or date night and the color is stunning!

The Trendy Option

I tend to shy away from trendy items, as they just don’t fit well into my wardrobe. But this jacket is the perfect way to incorporate Sherpa and fur. It comes in black, cream, and mauve. I think this would be so cute paired with dark or black jeans, a basic turtleneck, your favorite booties, and a fun earring.

The Waterproof Parka

Living in the Midwest a waterproof coat is a MUST! I love this one for many reasons: its long, comes in three colors, its waterproof, and probably most importantly… feels like a hug (it’s so cozy)! I found this jacket to run a bit big, I think mostly because of the length, so I would say if you are 5’4” or shorter- size down, if you are taller than 5’4’ then get your true size.

Thanks for reading! As always- Links are in pink. I hope you all have the best Thanksgiving. I will be continuously updating my Black Friday sales post throughout the next week- so keep tabs on that!

Xo,

Taylor
