Thanksgiving Approved Outfit Ideas

Hi girlies! With only eight days until Thanksgiving, I thought it would be the perfect time to share some ideas and inspiration for what to wear. It can be difficult to know what to wear for a day full of cooking, eating, and watching football with family. I wanted to give you a few good options that are not only comfortable and give you room to eat (hello seconds!) but are also items you will enjoy wearing throughout the Fall and Winter Season.
About 80% of you voted on my Instagram stories that you had a causal Thanksgiving planned, which is 100% how ours is so the outfit ideas lean more towards casual, but I included a mix of both to help you find the perfect outfit for your get-togethers.

Look One // The Classic- Sweater and Jeans

You cannot get any simpler than a sweater and a jeans. This combo is also one of my ‘go-tos’ and I couldn’t choose just one, so I am giving you two looks:

This sweater is SO cute! It’s hard to tell in the photo but it is a cowl neck style sweater, the torso and neck is this ultra-soft sweater material, and the sleeves are a fun pop of texture! I am wearing a size x-small.

This next sweater is even more beautiful in person. I just love the rusty camel color. As you can see, I styled it with jeans and a knotted headband in a fun print. This sweater would also look adorable with the Spanx Faux Leather leggings. Wearing an x-small in the sweater, which also comes in black.

Look Two // A Chic Approach: Leopard Print Skirt

Good news for all of you leopard lovers out there—leopard print works all year round, and I think it’s a perfect pop of pattern. This skirt is the statement of this outfit, I chose to pair it with a soft black turtleneck and black booties. To add a little something extra to the look I layered with this stunning leather jacket and a silk knotted headband. A ‘dressier’ option, but the waist band on the skirt is elastic, making it super comfortable (and allow you to eat more! Bonus!) Wearing a size small in the skirt, turtleneck, and jacket.

Look Three // Playful Prints- Polka Dot Blouse

You can never have a bad day in polka dots, am I right? This rust and cream polka dot sweater paired with jeans would make for an elevated look without sacrificing any comfort. The blouse is so silky and the embroidery on the pocket add a little something extra. Runs oversized, wearing a small, but would prefer an x-small.

Look Four // The ‘No Pants’ Option- Sweater Dress

A sweater dress paired with booties or tall boots is a classic Thanksgiving look and perfect for anyone wanting to avoid jeans. I love this gray, tan, and black color block option by THML! The sweater material is so soft, and the length is perfect. I am wearing a size small but could have done an x-small too. I paired the dress with my favorite black booties, if the weather is a bit cooler, I would swap my booties out for a tan pair and layer the dress over (black) tights.

Look Five // Layer Up With Plaid

A wool coat is a closet staple in my opinion! And while I am a sucker towards the classic solid color coats, this plaid coat by Part Two had my name written all over it- own a size 36 (x-small). The wide plaid pattern and warm earth tones make it easy to mix and match into my wardrobe. My favorite way I’ve been styling this coat is layered over a cozy sweater (I usually opt for tan or oatmeal, but a rust color would be gorgeous), dark skinny jeans, a mule or loafer, and add a little sparkle with pops of gold jewelry. If plaid isn’t your thing, they also have this in a beautiful tobacco color.

BONUS // Black Friday Shopping

Heading out to jumpstart your Christmas shopping? If you are like me and my family, while Thanksgiving lunch is cooking, we all sit down and look through the ads and make a priority list of all the items we ‘need’. And as soon as our Thanksgiving meal is over, Christmas is ON! I will be braving the shopping crowds in this comfy and festive ‘MERRY’ Sweatshirt by SouthPadre (wearing a size small) with a comfy pair of jeans. To add even more Christmas vibes to the look, I am going to finish the look with these tartan plaid loafers.

All these looks can be found at Tradition Women’s Market in Middleton, WI (if you are not local and saw/see something you’d like, call them and they would be happy to ship you any item to you)! If you follow me on Instagram you have seen me share pieces from them before- they are a women’s clothing store, specializing in classic styles! They carry a wide range of brands and price points too. If you haven’t gotten the chance to check their store out (I’ve included a few photos of it below), they are hosting a great event tomorrow (November 21st) from 5-8pm where a percentage of sales are being donated to the UW Carbone Cancer Center. They will also be doing promotions throughout Black Friday and Small Business Saturday- be sure to watch their Instagram where they will be posting deals- @traditionwomensmarket.
