Hello, loves! Happy Tuesday! Can you believe this is the last full week of October? I feel like a broken record when saying this, but the month is flying by! I mean I am not complaining, because the holidays are SO close. Anyone else obsessed with Christmas time? My Mom and I have been getting all our Christmas decorations in order and we were both saying “is it too early to decorate” hehe! I will probably start decorating in a few weeks, we are not home a lot in November/December, so I want to be able to enjoy my holiday décor, however, I won’t get my tree until the weekend after Thanksgiving. When do you guys typically start decorating for the holidays?
Okay, time to snap out of all the Christmas talk, it’s still fall!
One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of fall fashion is plaid! It’s such a closet staple, and because it comes in so many variations, surly everyone can find one to suit their personal style! Another trend that I love for fall is teddy coats. Why? Because they are so warm and cozy! And who doesn’t want to be warm and cozy!
The world’s mad for plaid….and so am I! A straight-forward print, classic and chic at the same time, plaid is the perfect counterpart to the floral print craze we saw this summer. I could wear plaid shirts all year round, but honestly, they look the best in fall and winter. Plaid shirts, or flannel shirts as some people call them, are so versatile and can be worn in a million different ways. And don’t forget that they’re comfortable, cozy and usually inexpensive. I picked up this plaid shirt about a month ago, and it is amazing! It has all my favorite fall earth tone colors. I also love the different size checking throughout the shirt, I think it just adds a little something extra.
Hands down one of my favorite trends of the season, teddy coats are my outerwear dreams come true. You’ve probably noticed by now, they are everywhere, and there are a ton of super cute styles to choose from. I know some of you are a little wary of it, in fear of looking like a care bear, but fear not, you can find a silhouette and style that works for you. What better way to kick off shorter days, longer nights, and chillier weather than with the coziest coats ever? For this jacket, I love the cropped length. I think it is just too cute paired with the plaid shirt and high waisted jeans!

Outfit Details:
Jacket: Runs big, I sized down to the x-small
Plaid Shirt: Runs big, I sized down to the x-small. Mine keeps going in and out of stock, so here is a very similar option.
Jeans: My favorites! Size down one size in the retailers jeans.
Black Mules: Run TTS, wearing a size 8
Tan Mules: Run TTS, wearing a size 8. I talk more about them here. These also keep going in and out of stock, so here is a similar pair from the same retailer.
In addition to the items above, I wanted to share other options for plaid shirts and teddy coats! Because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love plaid and who doesn’t need a cozy jacket?
Plaid Shirts:
I own this plaid shirt in two different colors: the green/black, and the red tartan (anyone else obsessed with Christmas plaid?) I own both in a size medium, I would say these run slightly small, I like my plaid to be looser fitting, and a little longer, so I can wear them with leggings. These have more of a flannel feel.
This is another great option. It’s got more of a tinsel feel, so it’s super silky feeling. If you are looking for a plaid shirt to dress up for work, this would be a great option. I own this in a size small (runs big) in the color burgundy.
This last option is perfect! I am in love with the blush color. I might need to check these out the next time I am at Nordstrom!
Teddy Coats:
This is such a cute option. What I love about this one, is its got structure around the neckline, it reminds me of a blazer. The color is so feminine and cute.
If you are looking for more of a ‘real’ coat option, this one is for you! The length is great, because it will keep you much warmer than a cropped option would. I also am in love with the color blocking, which is also a huge trend for the fall season.
BONUS: I just couldn’t not post these photos with me and two of my dogs!

I hope you all have a fabulous week!
