How To Style Utility Jackets For Fall + My Favorites!

Happy Tuesday, loves!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We had beautiful weather here and it was so nice to be able to get outside. Fall is definitely on its way, leaves are already changing here (crazy)! It’s so bitter sweet because I love fall but winter is inevitably coming (winter and me do not get along!)IMG_3115

With the cooler temps on the way, it has me so excited to pull utility jackets back into my wardrobe mix. The utility jacket is always a huge trend for the fall and that is because it literally pairs with everything and are so flattering on so many different body types. Styles like the denim jacket, you can layer it on top of any of your outfits. It is also super practical as it adds additional warmth on cooler days.IMG_3314

My favorite way to wear these in the fall is layered over a basic tee (solid or patterned), a plaid top, or cute sweater. If you are looking for additional warmth, add a cute scarf! The great thing about utility jackets is that they typically come in neutral and earthy colors making them easy to mix and match with your fall wardrobe. I love these and wear these so much that I own them in five colors.

Now onto my favorite utility jackets!
Olive Utility Jacket: I talked about this jacket in my Fall Capsule Wardrobe post, but this is the perfect olive utility jacket. I don’t like utility jackets that have a lot of excess because it limits the items you can wear it with. This one is perfect, it’s got just the right amount of hardware but is still SO simple. The olive color is perfect making it so easy to layer over my tees and sweaters. This particular one runs very large (I sized down to an XS). It also comes in yellow (which is so cute) and black!

Camo Utility Jacket: This one stole my heart. This has been the “it” jacket of the season and for good reason! It’s so affordable, good quality, and an adorable print!  This (& the next two jackets) are more lightweight than the olive Madewell one, but not so lightweight that it doesn’t add warmth. These run TTS, but I prefer a more ‘fitted’ look so I sized down to a small.

Blush Utility Jacket: Blush is my weakness. Just give me all the blush things! I wear blush all year long, it is just such a pretty color and adds such a feminine touch to an outfit. So, when I saw this color in a utility jacket, I snagged it right away! These run TTS, but I prefer a more ‘fitted’ look so I sized down to a small.

Burgundy Utility Jacket: Like olive, burgundy is a hot color for fall. I didn’t have anything this color in my closet, so when I saw it in store (& on sale I might add), it immediately came home with me. I am looking forward to styling this color this fall. These run TTS, but I prefer a more ‘fitted’ look so I sized down to a small.
