I hope your week is off to an awesome start! I am already looking forward to the long weekend (#NoShame).
August is such a weird month when it comes to shopping and figuring out what to wear. In most parts of the country, the weather is still blazing hot! And I’m sort of at this place where I’m basically over buying or looking for cute summer things and am more drawn to classic, transitional pieces. I’m over bright, loud colors and am looking forward to fall fashion. Over the next few weeks, I am going to start to share some items that you can wear right now and that will transition into the cooler temps ahead. So, lets talk sweatshirt dresses!
Sweatshirt dresses are amazing for this time of year because they are just so cozy! So you get the fall vibes your craving but you’re not dying of heat stroke. And like any other dress, they are so easy to style, because you only need to pick out shoes and if needed, a layering piece to match, and boom, you’ve got a cute look.
This Athleta sweatshirt dress is so great! It is the perfect length, hitting above the knee, and the adjustable tie waist makes it SO flattering. The fabric is a terry, making it so comfortable, it also comes in three colors: gray (what I have pictured), blush, and burgundy. Want to know the best part? It has a hidden pocket in the tie waist #OBSESSED.
In this post, I have paired it with my favorite denim jacket, a black cross body bag, and two styles of shoes. I love to wear these types of dresses with both sandals and sneakers. The sandals are perfect for the warmer fall days and the sneakers add a sporty vibe to the look.
My Vince sneakers have become a closet staple and truly go with anything, especially since you can wear dresses and sneakers together now! I am all for comfortable and cute outfits!

Aerie Long Sleeve Fleece Dress: this is such a great long sleeve option, it’s a more casual option than the Athleta one I am wearing but would be perfect for weekend wear.
Athleta Solitude Hoodie Dress: This dress is SO soft, it’s made out of their nirvana fabric, which feels like a plush blanket. The long sleeves would be great for fall and a puffy vest would look so cute layered over it.
